Q. Is there a 12 step program and do you hold meetings? 
A. This is a very commonly asked question.  I started Diab Anon because I really felt that there were some striking similarities between the way I was in denial (and in many ways still am) about "my diabetes" and how people deal with their addictions. It seems that many of you agree and would welcome a formal structure for dealing with this condition. So, at the the moment, the answer is no there isn't a program but one day there could be.

Q. Can I rely on the information I read on the Diab Anon site?
 A. The simple answer is no.  Diab Anon is a discussion and opinion site and as such will contain a variety of opinions, suggestions, and ideas. We at Diab Anon cannot verify all the information that will be added to the site and therefore cannot guarantee the accuracy of any such information.  There is a simple golden rule – do not make any changes to your diabetes management regimen without first consulting your healthcare professional.

 Q. Is Diab Anon independent?
 A. Yes. Diab Anon is an affiliate of WebWand Limited a Web Services company.  The site was started by one of the co-owners of WebWand as a response to the mismanagement of his own Type II diabetes.  Diab Anon is not associated with any pharmaceutical or other company.

 Q. How is the Diab Anon site funded and will they charge me for membership?
 A. Currently, this site receives no external funding.  However, we reserve the right to place a limited amount of approved advertising on the site in order to cover hosting and maintenance costs as the site grows.  We have no plans to charge for membership of this site.

 Q. Is my personal information safe and with whom will you share it?
 A. Neither Diab Anon nor WebWand Limited will share any of your personal information with any third-parties without your permission.  Your information is safe with us. Please see our Privacy Policy

Q. If I write a blog who owns my writing?
A. The content of your blog will only be used on the Diab Anon site.  It will not be used anywhere else without your permission.  The ownership of the content stays with you.  In essence you are allowing us to use your content on this site alone.
